UNIVERSAL HOMES OF KY
LEXINGTON, KY 40591
Vahid Javid (VJ), Co-Owner/Builder
For VJ Javid, it is a project of the heart.
In 2007, VJ lost his wife of 25 years to cancer. During the last year of her life, their two-story family home was not able to accommodate her mobile disability. It was out of this experience that Universal Homes of Kentucky was created.
VJ’s background was a Mechanical Engineer and Assistant Manager at Toyota in Georgetown, but is now dedicated to building traditional universal design homes and high performance homes. Due to VJ's extensive background and training, he looks ahead to design features which will anticipate his clients' future needs.
In 2010, VJ re-married and he and his wife, Tracey, and have four young adult children together. They both share a passion for creating homes and communities that allow people to live comfortably in a beautiful home that meets their daily needs.
Tracey helped in the founding of Universal Homes of Kentucky. She has studied Universal Design, has her CAPS certification (Certified Aging in Place Specialist), SRES certification (Senior Real Estate Specialist) and is currently a licensed Realtor with Weichert, Realtors – Towne & Country. Tracey currently manages the operations of Hometown Manors in Lexington and Frankfort.
